NASA astronaut Sunita Williams held her first press conference on Monday (local time) since returning to Earth after spending 286 days at the Space Station (ISS) due to technical problems with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft.
Addressing the conference, Williams thanked everyone for their involvement in the mission, including NASA and Elon Musk’s SpaceX, whose Dragon spacecraft brought her and Barry ‘Butch’ Wilmore back to the Earth. “Feeling good since we have been back, almost two weeks now. (I) actually went out and ran three miles yesterday, so I’ll give myself a pat on the back," she said.
When asked about the first thing she did after returning to Earth, Williams said she hugged her husband and her dogs. She said she had a grilled cheese sandwich after coming back home, which reminded her of her father, who was a vegetarian.
