The caller instructed Zakharova not to comment on the missile strike involving the “Yuzhmash" aerospace manufacturer in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. He added, “On the ‘Yuzhmash’ ballistic missile strike that the Westerners have started talking about, we are not commenting at all."

The latest briefing from the Russian foreign ministry came after Kyiv accused Russia of launching an intercontinental ballistic missile attack on Ukraine for the first time on Thursday.

Ukraine said the missile targeted the central city of Dnipro, but the Kremlin denied it had used a nuclear warhead, stating it was doing everything possible to avoid a nuclear conflict. However, the Kremlin did not confirm whether the missile had been deployed, as per news agency AFP report.

The Russian missile barrage on Dnipro, which left two people wounded, marks the latest escalation in the conflict, following Ukraine’s use of Western-supplied long-range missiles against Russia.

The Ukrainian air force stated that Russia had launched several types of missiles in the early hours, targeting critical infrastructure in Dnipro.
