Call it the Sensex monthly expiry volatility or some profit booking ahead of the mega HDB Financial IPO, the index could not sustain at higher levels, despite easing global cues and a sharp drop in crude oil prices.
The bulls have a strong Wall Street session to take heart from, with indices nearing their record high levels yet again. Other than the HDB Financial IPO, the markets will also be reacting to the news of the Reserve Bank of India conducting a ₹1 lakh crore VRRR auction on Friday to mop up higher surplus liquidity in the market.
Also keep an eye out on Defence stocks on whether they continue to see profit booking similar to Tuesday, and on Vodafone Idea, with regards to any potential AGR relief from the government.
