A married university professor in southeastern China has been suspended at Nanjing Normal University in Jiangsu province after allegations of immoral behavior after Song’s affair with a doctoral student was exposed by the student’s ex-boyfriend.
The professor, identified by his surname Song, held the position of vice dean of the Environmental School. He was implicated when a 14-page PowerPoint presentation detailing his adultery with a student, surnamed Wang, went viral on social media, reported South China Morning Post.
The presentation included numerous screenshots of online conversations between Song, 46, and Wang. These conversations revealed intimate details of their relationship, with Wang using the pet name “Piggy" for Song, while he addressed her as “Xiangxiang" – a reference to a character in her name.
Notably, Song repeatedly urged Wang to delete their chat history and remove him from her contact list.
The document revealed that Wang’s boyfriend, exposed the affair after Wang declined a date, claiming fatigue, when she was actually with Song at a hotel, reported Red Star News. Further conversations showed Song advising Wang to marry a younger man after graduation, a suggestion she rejected, professing her love for him. The boyfriend admitted to growing suspicious of Wang due to her increasingly distant behavior.
In the document’s closing remarks, the boyfriend expressed his disgust and the emotional turmoil he experienced upon discovering the affair.
“When I realised my girlfriend had this sickening relationship with her married mentor, my brain became blank instantly. A long time had passed by before I could be calm enough to reveal the truth to the public. I hope no one will be the ‘young guy’, Mr Song suggested," he said as reported by the outlet.
While the university has taken action against Song, it remained unclear whether Wang faced any consequences.
This incident echoed a similar event from the previous year where a woman created a 58-page file detailing her boyfriend’s history of cheating with 300 women, resulting in him losing his high-profile job at a Shenzhen bank.
