The White House on Monday said that President Donald Trump opposes violence on American streets, stressing that no one in his administration wants civilians harmed. However, the administration again pointed the finger at Democrats following the killing of two people in Minneapolis by anti-immigration agents.

“Nobody in the White House, including President Trump, wants to see people getting hurt or killed in America’s streets," White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters.

Leavitt referred to Saturday’s shooting of Alex Pretti by federal officers as a “tragedy," though a Trump aide had quickly and without evidence labeled Pretti a “domestic terrorist."

“We mourn for the parents. As a mother myself, of course, I cannot imagine the loss of life," she said, expressing sympathy for Pretti’s loved ones
