iPhone 17 and other models have been selling in big numbers in the country so it was inevitable that Apple jumps higher on the chart

Apple iPhone 17 and even the older models sell like hot cakes
Apple’s India focus is paying big returns as the iPhone maker breaches the top 5 list in the country thanks to heavy demand for iPhone 17 and other models. These numbers have been shared over the last few quarters but the on-ground impact and demand for iPhones have enabled the company to push past some of the popular names in the smartphone circuit.
The Indian buyers have gone up the price ladder because the quality devices cost more now, and that has fallen right into the alley for Apple which has the premium products to cater to this changing demand.
Apple’s Top 5 Finish, More To Come?
The details about Apple’s growth in the country has been recorded by Counterpoint Research in its recent report. The festive season that just went by in India was a big fodder for this demand, and all the queues and mob fighting that we saw across Apple Stores are clear evidence of its success.
It is easy to see why Apple has jumped the ladder in recent years. If you buy a phone worth Rs 30,000 or higher, you enter the premium segment in the country and that is Apple’s entire lineup of iPhones.
High prices usually deter people from buying but the Apple factor is so heavy on the buyer, they are willing to take out loans (finance) and buy the latest iPhone 17 or 17 Pro models just a few after they hit the shelves.
We got queries for the iPhone 17 Pro Max orange variant that people were happy to buy for higher than the retail price. Apple is clearly tapping into this hunger to go premium in the country and the future iPhone models are only going to take it higher up the list in the next few years.
Apple Needs India
Apple has set up exclusive stores in the country and two more have been added this year itself. The company continues to increase its dependence on India for making iPhones as well as other products.
The iPhone sales growth is barely at the tip of the iceberg in the country, which is why one can easily say that Apple needs more of these smart moves to get a bigger chunk of the Indian market. Samsung and Vivo along with Xiaomi have taken turns to lead the segment over the years and it is not completely impossible to see Apple go further up and give these brands a serious fight.
