Apple’s Vision Pro Production May Have Stopped: What Happens Now?

Apple Vision Pro sales have stagnated for multiple reasons and the company seems happy with the stocks available at its end.

Apple will have enough stocks of the headset to sell in 2025.

Apple is back in the news this week with the premium Vision Pro headset that may be reaching the end of its life cycle. The company has been slowly reducing the production demands for the headset since late 2024 and we could now be at a point where it doesn’t need to make more of the Vision Pro headsets for the future.

Apple Vision Pro Sale Issue: What Now?

The demand for Vision Pro started with a bang but it seems the hefty price tag and its limited use case slowed down the sale numbers, which meant Apple had enough units in stock to stop bothering about making more of the product if it wanted to sell till the end of 2025.

Apple has offered the headset in limited markets and skipped countries like India, probably because nobody will pay Rs 3 lakh for the device, fair enough. However, Apple has other issues that have stopped people from getting excited about the headset and for that price, they need more in the wings.

For instance, the headset still doesn’t support the new AI features, or expand its compatibility with popular gaming controllers, which seems possible with Apple reportedly talking to Sony for this change.

That’s not all, the company seems to have delayed the launch of the premium Vision Pro 2 model by another few years because of these concerns.

So, we might actually see the affordable Vision Pro model much earlier, probably in 2026 with a bigger focus on reaching the mass audience, and maybe compete with the likes of Meta Quest to some extent. Samsung and Vivo could also become a rival in this space when their headsets roll out sometime in the future.
