AI models are easily mimicking human thinking and answers which has become evident as ChatGPT 4.5 is the latest to pass the Turing test.

AI models are already close to behaving like humans and this is not a prank. ChatGPT 4.5 which is the latest from OpenAI has passed the Turing test which is the best way to assess an AI model and how it is evolving to the stage of responding and thinking like us.

This isn’t the first AI model to pass the test and won’t be the last as the technology evolves, learns and matures to deliver better and consistent results. 

Turing Test Green Flag For ChatGPT: Why It Matters 

The test which was part of a study at the University Of California showed that the AI model has become hard to differentiate from how a human would answer and in some cases the answers were more often than a human would. 

These statistics might not sound exciting but passing the Turing test is the ultimate litmus test for these AI giants and ChatGPT 4.5 is showing that AI is moving rapidly in the path of higher intelligence. Having said that, the Turing test can be customised to certain settings which is how the ChatGPT 4.5 model got 73 percent win rate. 

Does Turing Still Hold Value In The AI Arena? 

Experts and AI researchers over the years have relied on the Turing test to benchmark models and ChatGPT 4.5 clearing these layers is obviously going to catch interest. However, AI is evolving and has matured a lot, so much that an intelligence test developed in the 1950’s may be easy to pass for most AI models available in the market these days. 

The tech is sophisticated and relies on powerful computing systems that give them a big advantage over the older models, and it seems people are now realising the need to look beyond the Turing test to truly gauge and judge the levels and intelligence nature of these models.
