The images, released by the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, show a person wearing a face mask, gloves, a backpack and what appears to be a gun holster.

New Footage Emerges in Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Case
Authorities have released photos and video showing a masked and armed person appearing to tamper with the door camera at the Tucson, Arizona, home of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC news anchor Savannah Guthrie, who was abducted about 10 days ago.
The images, released by the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, show a person wearing a face mask, gloves, a backpack and what appears to be a gun holster.
What does the footage reveal?
A law enforcement official said the images were recovered from a Google Nest doorbell camera and were recorded at 3 a.m. on February 1, a day after her family last saw her.
In the video, the person appears to try to block the camera with foliage and then damage it. The individual’s head is down while approaching the door, suggesting awareness of the camera’s position. Police said the camera was disabled in the early hours of February 1.
Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker disconnected from her phone in the pre-dawn hours of the same day, when she is believed to have been kidnapped.
Nancy Guthrie was last seen when relatives dropped her at home on January 31. She was reported missing the next day after she failed to attend Sunday church services.
Officials had earlier said they had no suspects or persons of interest in the case.
Person detained for questioning
A person has been detained for questioning in Rio Rico, Arizona, around 60 miles south of Tucson near the US-Mexico border. Authorities are also carrying out a search warrant at a home in the area.
A law enforcement source told CNN that Nancy Guthrie has still not been located.
Ransom notes and Bitcoin demand
At least two ransom notes were initially delivered to the news media. The note demanded 6 million dollars in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin was reportedly seen being transferred into the wallet mentioned in the ransom note within the past 15 minutes, as per reports.

FBI and local police probe
FBI agents were seen in the area near Nancy Guthrie’s home, and sheriff SWAT vehicles were seen leaving the station.
“Law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance," FBI Director Kash Patel wrote in a post on X.
Patel was at the investigation’s Tucson command post on Tuesday, according to a law enforcement official.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said she and President Donald Trump had reviewed the images and urged anyone with information to contact the FBI.
Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have shared several videos asking for public help and urging the kidnappers to return their mother or communicate with the family. The family has said they are willing to pay a ransom.
Savannah Guthrie also shared the images on Instagram, writing, “We believe she is still alive. Bring her home."
