Spotify free users get limited features but the platform is now extending support for other basic options with some limit for sure.

Sharing, searching and playing music on Spotify for everyone
Spotify’s free version has been limited in terms of features but the platform is now offering some more basic options for those who want to enjoy its service with ads plastered all over. You might feel these features should be available for everyone but Spotify has offered limited access to the freemium users in countries like India.
The new update from the platform unlocks features like pick and play a song, search and play a track and even share what you want others to listen. This can be seen as a big change from Spotify for the free base and tells you the platform is looking to increase its user base by making more options available to everyone.
Spotify Free Plan: How Things Change Now?
Playing tracks is a vital part of a music streaming app but Spotify had limited its access to the free users, who could only shuffle tracks a few times and you can skip songs to a certain number every hour.
Sharing tracks is another new-age tool that most people expect apps to have by default but the platform has not allowed free users to share or play the shared content before this. However, the new options for free users are not unlimited and reports say Spotify will have a daily limit and if you exhaust those the existing free benefits will be rolled back.
The company launched its free plan in markets like India with the hope these users will eventually switch to the premium version. It saw ads as the best way to make people start paying for its service but more than 5 years since its debut in the region, the platform still has a major chunk of user base in the free tier, and around 250 million of them globally paying for the service and other features.
Lossless Audio, Finally
Spotify has been teasing its Hi-Fi version for years and every time we hear news about its launch, we have covered it. So it is finally good to see the feature getting an official rollout timeline for October, even though it is coming to select regions for now.
Spotify has been flirting with the idea of bringing a higher-priced plan for its lossless audio support but Apple Music changed its thoughts.
So, you now get the premium feature baked into the existing version and anybody paying Spotify for its services will get lossless audio support via an update. Yes, Spotify is not going to charge you anything extra for this feature which is how it should have been in the first place.
