WhatsApp AI features will soon let you edit and even create messages in different tones with your privacy in check.

WhatsApp wants to use AI and help you craft messages
WhatsApp continues to test new AI features for its users and the messaging app is now looking to help you get better with messages. The latest beta version of WhatsApp gets a new AI-powered tool that helps users refine their chats before they send it.
Meta AI is the main hub of these features that the company is bringing to its products like WhatsApp and Instagram in the last few months. The latest news around AI for WhatsApp looks to go beyond generating images, creating a travel itinerary and more.
WhatsApp AI Assist For Messages: How It Could Work
The feature called Writing Help has been spotted in the WhatsApp Android beta version 2.25.23.7 recently. The platform will use Meta’s private processing tech to keep the messages secure even if you get the AI editor to make the changes. The app will also make sure that your identity remains anonymous and the chat is encrypted. Here’s how the Writing Help will look on WhatsApp, as highlighted by tipster WaBetaInfo in a new post:
Meta AI is being put to use for editing, summarising and even creating messages on WhatsApp. The AI model will write the messages in different contexts and tones like Rephrase, Professional, Funny and Proofread. You don’t have to edit all the messages using AI and have the option to send the original version as you have been doing for years.
The person receiving the message will not see any labels or know about the AI-assisted nature of the chat. WhatsApp will keep the feature disabled by default and only work when the user turns it on from the settings of their account.
WhatsApp is testing voice chat with Meta AI for Android users. The platform has gone through multiple phases of tests earlier, and it seems the availability could be back on the agenda for the company. The Meta AI chatbot will have a dynamic halo icon similar to Siri and answer your queries with the text given on the screen.
The AI chatbot will also cite the source for its response which is critical for the credibility of the platform in the long run. Meta AI will seek your permission to access the microphone and speaker on the phone so that the AI chatbot can hear and speak to you for commands.
