CES 2025 is starting this week and we could see a lot of AI-centric launches.
Samsung is set to go all out on artificial intelligence (AI) at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025. The company has announced a suite of AI features for their TVs which they collectively describe as ‘Vision AI’.
The South Korean tech company also introduced new collaborations with other tech giants including Microsoft and Google. These partnerships have helped them add new features for other entertainment devices including speakers and soundbars.
Samsung Vision AI features for TVs
Click to Search: The new feature will help users find more information about the content that is displayed on their TV screen. This includes identifying an actor or knowing more about the scene on your display and more. This feature is the same that you get on the smartphones.
Live Translate: Vision AI also enables Samsung TV to use on-device AI translation models. The Samsung TVs will be able to provide real-time subtitle translations of the content you are watching on the screen.
Generative Wallpaper: Samsung has now introduced Generative Wallpaper that allows users to display personalised artwork/backgrounds to be displayed on the TV whenever it is idle.
Samsung also collaborated with Microsoft to develop a wide range of Copilot AI services. They include personalised content recommendations on Smart TVs and monitors. Samsung claimed that they would work with Google to expand what vision AI can do. The South Korean tech giants also unveiled a new 3D audio technology called ‘Eclipsa Audio’ with Google for its TVs and soundbars. This feature allows creators to create a three-dimensional sound experience by adjusting the location and intensity of sounds.
Apart from the Vision AI features, Samsung also unveiled its new TV line-up for 2025. It includes Neo QLED, OLED and QLED models. The flagship Neo QLED 8K QN990F TV offers advanced AI features with on-device AI processing capabilities. Some of its features include 8K AI Upscaling Pro, Adaptive Sound Pro, Auto HDR Remastering Pro, Colour Booster Pro and AI Mode.
The company is bringing AI to homes as well with the Home AI ecosystem that looks to unify the UI experience and features across different products available in the segment. Home AI learns from habits and adapts to individual routines for a hyper-personalized smart home experience.
Samsung is focused on security and privacy of users within this platform, which is essential as you upgrade appliances like TVs, and refrigerators with the new AI features. The company also has an ambient sensing tech in the works that will analyse and adapt to the conditions and weather.
