1st October History: आज के ही दिन शादी को लेकर एक ऐसा फैसला हुआ था, जिसने ना जाने किसने नौजवानों के अरमानों पर पानी फेर दिया था. जी हां, आज से करीब 47 पहले 1 अक्टूबर को ही शादी की उम्र को लेकर तत्कालीन सरकार ने एक बड़ा फैसला लिया था. इस फैसले के तहत, लड़कियों की शादी की उम्र को 14 से बढ़ाकर 18 साल और लड़कों की उम्र को 18 से बढ़ाकर 21 साल कर दिया गया था. यह बदलाव बाल विवाह निरोधक अधिनियम (Child Marriage Restraint Act) के तहत हुआ था, जिसे ‘शारदा एक्ट’ भी कहा जाता है.
